NZ AIP Visa Statistics & Trends

As at 23 July 2026, Immigration New Zealand has received 837 applications under the Active Investor Plus (AIP) programme, representing 2,732 applicants.

This includes:

  • 127 applications in the Balanced category
  • 710 applications in the Growth category

Collectively, these applications represent a potential minimum investment of NZD $4.845 billion into the New Zealand economy.

The average time for an application to receive Approval in Principle is 36 working days.

Highlights

  • China was the standout growth market since the previous update, contributing the largest increase in applications (31) and reinforcing the growing appeal of New Zealand's Active Investor Plus programme among Chinese investors.
  • The United States continues to lead all source markets, accounting for 33% of total applications, followed by China (19%) and Hong Kong (13%). Together, these three markets represent 65% of all applications received.
  • European investor interest continues to broaden, with the United Kingdom recording 50% growth in applications since the previous update, while Germany remains the region's largest source market with 56 applications.
  • Application processing continues to progress, with 285 applications having received Approval in Principle and 395 applications now fully approved.
