The New Zealand Active Investor Plus (AIP) Visa offers high-net-worth individuals a streamlined pathway to residency by making a significant investment into local businesses and growth-oriented sectors.
About the AIP Visa program
The AIP Visa offers two flexible investment categories:
- Growth: focused on active investments, including direct contributions into New Zealand businesses and managed funds. This visa requires a minimum investment of NZ$5m for a period of three years.
- Balanced: focused on passive investments, with the ability to choose from a variety of asset classes. This requires a minimum investment of NZ$10m over five years.

AIP Visa Statistics & Trends
As of 02 September 2026, Immigration New Zealand has received 904 applications under the new settings for 2,953 applicants, 132 in the Balanced category and 772 in the Growth category. These applications amount to a potential total minimum investment of NZD $4.935 billion into New Zealand’s economy.
The average time for an application under the new settings to be approved in principle is 36 working days.2.

Introduction to the MA AIP Fund
MA Financial offer an acceptable fund for the growth category of the AIP.
MA NZ Growth Fund
Accepted as an eligible investment for the AIP Visa Growth category by Immigration New Zealand. Seeks to invest in businesses delivering economic and other positive impacts for New Zealand.

Target Investment Amount: NZ$5m
Min. Term: 3 years
Target Investments: The Fund will primarily target private credit and real asset-backed investments.
These may include structured loans and debt facilities to businesses, operators, and asset owners across various sectors, such as aged care, education, specialist accommodation, tourism infrastructure, and agri-linked industries.
Distributions: Semi - annually
Eligibility: Wholesale investors only
